As you’re preparing back to school lists for the kids, throw in a few extra items for school children in need. But hurry – the deadline is Friday, July 14.
IAM Automobile Mechanics’ Local 701 is collecting school supply donations.
“All donations – everything from pencils, calculators, lunch boxes, folders and crayons – are welcomed,” said Directing Business Representative Sam Cicinelli. “Local 701 is always looking for ways to reach out and give back to our Chicagoland community. We started out each year by taking part in the Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. This is our first time hosting a school supply drive. Our hope is that it’s a success and we can do more in the future.”

Donations can be mailed or dropped off at the IAM Local 701 office located at 450 Gundersen Drive, Carol Stream, IL 60188. Cash donations are also accepted. All donations must be in by Friday, July 14.
Donations will be dispersed to children in need by the Humanitarian Service Project, a nonprofit focused on helping impoverished families living in DuPage County, Illinois.
