District Lodge 70 Negotiates First Flight Safety Services Corporation Contract

Tuesday, October 23, 2018 District Lodge 70 began negotiations for a first contract with Flight Safety Services Corporation (FSSC) at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita Kansas.

Negotiations for McConnell AFB members are scheduled to continue through Thursday, October 25, 2018.

“We have a 13-member unit with a potential of 100 plus members once the program is up and running”, said DL 70 Business Rep. Tyson Kelly who will be the lead negotiator in the contract negotiations. IAM Aerospace Coordinator Tony Blevins is assisting in these negotiations.

The FSSC unit will train pilots, refuel boom operations and simulator technicians that will maintain the simulators for the Air Force next generation of refuel tankers, the KC-46 tanker program.

The new unit will be incorporated into Local Lodge 708. Negotiations are scheduled to continue in late November 2018.
