A Tough Start to a New Year

Machinist Union members of Local 708 working at the Sherwin-Williams Manufacturing facility in Andover, Kansas were given notice of an immediate reduction in workforce on Tuesday.
“The news came unexpected,” said District 70 Business Representative, Tyson Kelly. “It is a substantial layoff for the size of facility that Sherwin-Williams operates in Andover. It’s a big disappointment.”
The company gave employees a two-week notice to 24 bargaining unit employees. Friday, January 31, will be the last day for those who are affected by the layoff.
