DISTRICT 70 SPIRIT OF LABOR’S 2015 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM UNDERWAY

angel treeWe are gearing up our Spirit of Labor’s Christmas program for another successful year!

As we all know, Christmas can be stressful when a family is already on a tight budget. Add into that an unexpected illness or Angellayoff and it may seem that it’s going to be almost impossible to have a couple of packages under the tree for your child. Many of our local families face this problem around Christmas time and turn to the Salvation Army for help.

That’s where our Spirit of Labor program comes in. Our program works with Salvation Army’s Angel Tree by taking their “Angels” to adopt. Last year, our program adopted 867 Salvation Army “Angels”.  That means 867 children were able to have a merrier Christmas thanks to our generous donors and the many people who adopt individual angels! We also can’t forget our volunteers who work tirelessly to make sure every child gets at least one toy and everything is bagged properly to head to the Salvation Army. This program couldn’t function without you!

We are also proud that we have a program set up for our Union members. If we have a Union family that is struggling due to a lay off or illness, we are able to help them with gifts for their children as well. The assistance form is available on our website.

If you have the heart, we would like to encourage you to please consider adopting an Angel . They will be available November 23rd. Please contact District Lodge #70 @ 316-522-1591 or feel free to stop by and pick one up at 3830 S. Meridian.
