Boeing Plans To Leave Wichita By 2013
Boeing says it can no longer afford to operate its Wichita facility. That's the main reason it gave for choosing to shut down the defense operations in Wichita by the end of 2013. Read Boeings statement posted on KWCH Channel 12's website.

Great News for IAM/Boeing Students Coming in 2012!
Active and Laid off IAM-Represented employees in Puget Sound, Portland, and Wichita will soon see an increase in their annual Education Assistance (EA) benefits. The annual benefit allocation will increase to $3,000 per year per employee, beginning January 1, 2012. Read more.

Laid-Off Workers Center
The Laid-Off Workers Center is open monthly and sees all qualified clients by appointment only. The center is coordinated by United Way with local nonprofits, government agencies and other organizations.
Setting up an appointment with the Laid-Off Workers Center:
Laid-off workers must pre-register and set up an appointment by calling United Way's information phone number, 2-1-1 (this is a toll-free number): Call only between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. For those having difficulties dialing 2-1-1 through their phone provider, dial the alternative number 1-888-413-4327
